This is your go-to source for the latest tech happenings, broken down into 4 easy-to-understand, simplified bits of information. We hope you enjoy taking a Nibble with us!
The idea behind Nibbles is simple: to give you a small, perfectly-sized bite out of the vast world of technology. Each newsletter delivers 4 bits of carefully curated tech articles, insights, tips, and tricks, all presented with a clear, simple summary. Even if you only read the headline you will slowly begin to become more aware of the tech industry. The goal is for you to easily digest it within 5 minutes over a cup of coffee or a slice of cake.
Well, you would’ve most likely heard of a megabyte or gigabyte. It’s the amount of data and it is made up of bits. A megabyte contains 8 million bits and a gigabyte has even more zeros. Which, alike IT updates, can be a lot of information to digest.
A bit is the smallest size you can get and, in computing, it works like a light switch. It has two options; on or off, yes or no, 1 or 0. A nibble is simply 4 bits.
But there’s another, perhaps slightly geekier, reason for our name. Just like how Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. spells out “Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division,” or how the TARDIS from Doctor Who stands for “Time and Relative Dimension in Space,” we really wanted to spell out NIBBLES.
For us, NIBBLES stands for:
